Who has had the greatest impact on your life?
I have come to know numerous men and women who have impacted my life, but none will leave the impression that my dad has. He has and always will be there for me when I need it most. For example he has supported me through thick and thin during my whole hockey career spanning eight years now. He has allowed me, and taken himself, up to Canada to play in a tournament. Over all of the years I have noticed how generous my dad is also. He will do whatever he can to help the family or even a friend. He will fix some of the family's cars so that they don't have to go to a garage and have to pay the ridiculous amounts that they ask for. Being around my dad my whole life has also taught me a lot. It was sitting in the passenger seat of the car where I learned to drive without him telling me what to do. He taught me the most important lesson in life, in my opinion. Originally he was telling me that for playing goalie in hockey if I wanted to be more successful I needed to be in a position that would make the player alter their shot. However I see that this piece of advice can be used in any aspect of life. An example of this is if I want to be successful in getting a job I need to alter my resume and appearance to make the company want to hire me. My dad was also the one to introduce me to my second career choice if my first does not go as planned. With his help I have been around fire stations and gotten to know some firefighters and the lives that they live. He has also set up a simulated combat test that normal firefighters would have to pass in order to be employed. So because of all the things that my father has done for me and how he lives his life has left and always leave the biggest impact on my life and how I am intending to live it.
