Ms. Linda Elizabeth Archibeque Senior Accountant Aims Community College Greeley, CO 80632
Dear Ms. Archibeque,
I am interested in applying for the Fire Science 2 scholarship at Aims Community College. I am applying for this scholarships for different reasons. The most important reason is that this scholarship would help me push to achieve my goal in becoming a firefighter. I would acquire the knowledge to improve my potential placement above other applicants in a job search. I am interested in this application because it is for degrees and programs that I feel are very unique in both the knowledge learned in them, but also how they will improve a person's traits all around.
Throughout my high school career I have worked very hard to be where I am now. I have maintained a 3.85 GPA and have respectfully earned the rank of 18 in my graduating class. I have taken a rigorous class schedule to prepare me for how college is going to be. With this scholarship I will receive information and certificates in firefighting science. In the process it will help me when I go to look for a firefighting job by placing my accomplishments above other potential applicants.
Also with being a full time student I have played competitive hockey since my freshman year. While playing hockey I have received a handful of awards and a few championships. Playing competitive hockey has also helped me manage my time with school work, friend, and family time. Also to match this scholarship I have taken two firefighting combat tests with the Longmont Fire Department. This physical test is run by all of the firefighters each year for them to be on the department. So having run this test I have a little bit of background information and feelings of firefighting.
I am grateful that Aims Community College offers this scholarship to any student wishing to pursue these classes. It gives them a chance to get a basic knowledge of firefighting without having to have any hands-on experience, and gives them proper accreditation for the work that they put in. This is a great example of the values that the school has in making the best decisions possible for the school and of the students. It will always be in the best of interest for everyone, just like in the original school established in 1965. Thank you for your time and consideration in looking at my application. If you need to contact me please feel free too by phone (970) 290-4373, email beastlyblazer33@gmail.com, or by mail. Once again thank you for the time.
Sincerely,

Brett Blatzer
